Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Widayat achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Forest Flowers sold for HKD 450,000.00 (€ 47,482.19) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Widayat - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Terang Bulan Di Rimba (Bright Moon In The Jungle) , which sold at auction in October 2015 for HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 146,033.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Widayat erzielte im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Forest Flowers für HKD 450.000,00 (€ 47.482,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 180.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Widayat mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Terang Bulan Di Rimba (Bright Moon In The Jungle) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 146.033,33) versteigert wurde.
