In March 2009 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work 'Pegasus' by Wheeler Williams. The »bidding war« ended at USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,196.59), 46% above the upper estimate. Other works by Wheeler Williams have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 30,000.00 (€ 21,305.31) in September 2008 for the work Winter and Summer: Two Sculptures.
