Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Wheeler Williams could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Calliope changed hands for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,758.57) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wheeler Williams have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Winter and Summer: Two Sculptures in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 21,305.31).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wheeler Williams konnte im Oktober 2013 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Calliope für USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.758,57) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wheeler Williams auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Winter and Summer: Two Sculptures im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 21.305,31).
