Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Lotus by Wen Qiqiu was auctioned at POLY in Hong Kong in May 2017, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 3,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 9,440.00 (€ 1,077.92). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wen Qiqiu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Various Flowers in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 150,000.00 (€ 14,234.22).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Lotus von Wen Qiqiu im Mai 2017 bei POLY in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 3.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 9.440,00 (€ 1.077,92) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wen Qiqiu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Various Flowers im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 150.000,00 (€ 14.234,22).
