Upper estimate price exceeded by 67 %.
The work Verse in Cursive Script Calligraphy by Wen Peng was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2012. It achieved a price of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 24,788.62), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wen Peng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ode to the Pavilion of the Inebriated Old Man in cursive script in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 5,015,000.00 (€ 557,849.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
