Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wen Peng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Poems In Cursive Script sold for USD 507,000.00 (€ 411,525.97) - well above the upper estimate of USD 180,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wen Peng; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ode to the Pavilion of the Inebriated Old Man in cursive script sold at auction in October 2021 with the realized price of HKD 5,015,000.00 (€ 557,849.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wen Peng erzielte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Poems In Cursive Script für USD 507.000,00 (€ 411.525,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 180.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Wen Peng; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Ode to the Pavilion of the Inebriated Old Man in cursive script im Oktober 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 5.015.000,00 (€ 557.849,29).
