Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wen Peng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2013. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Scenery in Yixing sold for HKD 2,430,000.00 (€ 240,979.37) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wen Peng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ode to the Pavilion of the Inebriated Old Man in cursive script, which sold at auction in October 2021 for HKD 5,015,000.00 (€ 557,849.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wen Peng erzielte im Mai 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Scenery in Yixing für HKD 2.430.000,00 (€ 240.979,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wen Peng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ode to the Pavilion of the Inebriated Old Man in cursive script beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für HKD 5.015.000,00 (€ 557.849,29) versteigert wurde.
