This artwork by Wen Peng achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2011. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Seven-character Poem in Running-cursive Script sold for HKD 5,420,000.00 (€ 518,511.86) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 2,000,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wen Peng; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ode to the Pavilion of the Inebriated Old Man in cursive script sold at auction in October 2021 with the realized price of HKD 5,015,000.00 (€ 557,849.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wen Peng erzielte im November 2011 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Seven-character Poem in Running-cursive Script für HKD 5.420.000,00 (€ 518.511,86) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 2.000.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Wen Peng; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Ode to the Pavilion of the Inebriated Old Man in cursive script im Oktober 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 5.015.000,00 (€ 557.849,29).
