Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Running Script Calligraphy by Wen Peng. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 106,250.00 (€ 10,164.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wen Peng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ode to the Pavilion of the Inebriated Old Man in cursive script in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 5,015,000.00 (€ 557,849.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Running Script Calligraphy von Wen Peng zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 106.250,00 (€ 10.164,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wen Peng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ode to the Pavilion of the Inebriated Old Man in cursive script im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.015.000,00 (€ 557.849,29).
