Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy after the Four Masters of the Song Dynasty by Wen Peng was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008. It changed hands for a price of HKD 187,500.00 (€ 15,436.21) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wen Peng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ode to the Pavilion of the Inebriated Old Man in cursive script in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 5,015,000.00 (€ 557,849.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy after the Four Masters of the Song Dynasty von Wen Peng kam im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 187.500,00 (€ 15.436,21) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wen Peng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ode to the Pavilion of the Inebriated Old Man in cursive script im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.015.000,00 (€ 557.849,29).
