Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Plum Blossoms by Wen Ding. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 43,750.00 (€ 3,601.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wen Ding achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Journey To The Red Cliff in October 2018 with an auction result of HKD 550,000.00 (€ 61,930.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Plum Blossoms von Wen Ding zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 43.750,00 (€ 3.601,78) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wen Ding erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Journey To The Red Cliff im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 550.000,00 (€ 61.930,82).
