In May this year Bonhams held the auction Michael Goedhuis | Brush and Bronze, which included the work Zhu Ma Ting (Stop the Horse and Listen), 2010 by Wei Ligang. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,837.50 (€ 12,609.50), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Wei Ligang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shield Array in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 625,000.00 (€ 70,415.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Michael Goedhuis | Brush and Bronze durch, in der auch die Arbeit Zhu Ma Ting (Stop the Horse and Listen), 2010 von Wei Ligang zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.837,50 (€ 12.609,50) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wei Ligang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shield Array im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 625.000,00 (€ 70.415,61).
