Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Bird-and-Insect Script Calligraphy by Wei Ligang. The price achieved of HKD 50,000.00 (€ 5,478.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wei Ligang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shield Array in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 625,000.00 (€ 70,415.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bird-and-Insect Script Calligraphy von Wei Ligang zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 50.000,00 (€ 5.478,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wei Ligang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shield Array im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 625.000,00 (€ 70.415,61).
