Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Record Of Yue Yang Tower by Wei Ligang was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 225,000.00 (€ 26,477.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wei Ligang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shield Array, which sold at auction in April 2016 for HKD 625,000.00 (€ 70,415.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Record Of Yue Yang Tower von Wei Ligang kam im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 225.000,00 (€ 26.477,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Wei Ligang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shield Array beobachtet, die im April 2016 für HKD 625.000,00 (€ 70.415,61) versteigert wurde.
