Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wei Jia achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Beijing in December 2013. In the Modern and Contemporary Chinese Art auction, the work Silence From A Distance (With 21 Other Works) sold for CNY 649,000.00 (€ 77,810.29) - well above the upper estimate of CNY 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wei Jia have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nowhere to Escape IV in April this year with an auction result of HKD 720,000.00 (€ 735,260.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wei Jia erzielte im Dezember 2013 bei Sothebys in Beijing einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Chinese Art wurde die Arbeit Silence From A Distance (With 21 Other Works) für CNY 649.000,00 (€ 77.810,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von CNY 300.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wei Jia auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nowhere to Escape IV im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 720.000,00 (€ 735.260,87).
