This artwork by Waseem Ahmed achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2007. In the Asian Contemporary Art auction, the work without title sold for HKD 43,750.00 (€ 3,824.55) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Waseem Ahmed - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Man Lounging); Untitled (Woman Pointing), which sold at auction in March 2017 for USD 10,000.00 (€ 9,347.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Waseem Ahmed erzielte im November 2007 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für HKD 43.750,00 (€ 3.824,55) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Waseem Ahmed mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Man Lounging); Untitled (Woman Pointing) beobachtet, die im März 2017 für USD 10.000,00 (€ 9.347,54) versteigert wurde.
