Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Waseem Ahmed achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2021. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work without title sold for GBP 3,528.00 (€ 4,179.73) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Waseem Ahmed - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Man Lounging); Untitled (Woman Pointing), which sold at auction in March 2017 for USD 10,000.00 (€ 9,347.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Waseem Ahmed erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 3.528,00 (€ 4.179,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Waseem Ahmed mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Man Lounging); Untitled (Woman Pointing) beobachtet, die im März 2017 für USD 10.000,00 (€ 9.347,54) versteigert wurde.
