Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Painting In Red And Yellow (Nude) by Wang Ziwei for USD 46,600.00 (€ 29,484.34). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Asia at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Ziwei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Great Wave: Greetings, Comrades, which sold at auction in October 2007 for HKD 943,500.00 (€ 84,124.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Painting In Red And Yellow (Nude) von Wang Ziwei für USD 46.600,00 (€ 29.484,34) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Ziwei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Great Wave: Greetings, Comrades beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für HKD 943.500,00 (€ 84.124,62) versteigert wurde.
