Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2013 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Hopeless by Wang Ziwei. The price achieved of HKD 300,000.00 (€ 28,468.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 260,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Ziwei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Great Wave: Greetings, Comrades, which sold at auction in October 2007 for HKD 943,500.00 (€ 84,124.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2013 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hopeless von Wang Ziwei zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 28.468,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 260.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Ziwei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Great Wave: Greetings, Comrades beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für HKD 943.500,00 (€ 84.124,62) versteigert wurde.
