The work Hopeless by Wang Ziwei was sold in the Contemporary Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2015. The result of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 11,682.67) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wang Ziwei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Great Wave: Greetings, Comrades in October 2007 with an auction result of HKD 943,500.00 (€ 84,124.62).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Hopeless von Wang Ziwei wurde im Oktober 2015 in der Auktion Contemporary Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 11.682,67) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Ziwei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Great Wave: Greetings, Comrades im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 943.500,00 (€ 84.124,62).
