The work Hopeless: Take Care by Wang Ziwei was worth HKD 620,000.00 (€ 57,256.76) to a buyer in October 2011. This price was achieved in the auction The Ullens Collection - Experimentation and Evolution at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wang Ziwei; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Great Wave: Greetings, Comrades sold at auction in October 2007 with the realized price of HKD 943,500.00 (€ 84,124.62).
