In October 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Asian Art – Day Sale, which included the work Bridal Veil - Village Game Ii by Wang Yidong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 375,000.00 (€ 41,273.18), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Yidong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Teasing The Newlyweds in April 2013 with an auction result of HKD 19,160,000.00 (€ 1,875,549.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern Asian Art – Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bridal Veil - Village Game Ii von Wang Yidong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 375.000,00 (€ 41.273,18) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Yidong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Teasing The Newlyweds im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 19.160.000,00 (€ 1.875.549,82).
