In September 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Landscape by Wang Shimin. The »bidding war« ended at USD 110,500.00 (€ 85,952.08), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Shimin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reading in the Autumn Mountain in May 2012 with an auction result of HKD 10,180,000.00 (€ 1,060,485.28).
