Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script by Wang Shimin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 81,250.00 (€ 9,590.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Shimin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reading in the Autumn Mountain in May 2012 with an auction result of HKD 10,180,000.00 (€ 1,060,485.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Running Script von Wang Shimin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 81.250,00 (€ 9.590,41) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Shimin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Reading in the Autumn Mountain im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 10.180.000,00 (€ 1.060.485,28).
