Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2015 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Hut By The Stream by Wang Shimin. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 2,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 2,200,000.00 (€ 268,699.11). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Shimin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Reading in the Autumn Mountain, which sold at auction in May 2012 for HKD 10,180,000.00 (€ 1,060,485.28).
