Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Houses in the Forest by Wang Shimin was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,200,000.00 – 1,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,220,000.00 (€ 127,091.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Wang Shimin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Reading in the Autumn Mountain in May 2012 with an auction result of HKD 10,180,000.00 (€ 1,060,485.28).
