Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy in Running Script by Wang Shihong was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 32,500.00 (€ 2,841.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Shihong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems In Running Script in March 2014 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 36,292.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script von Wang Shihong wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 32.500,00 (€ 2.841,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Shihong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems In Running Script im März 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 36.292,37).
