This artwork by Wang Shihong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy In Running Script sold for HKD 125,000.00 (€ 14,287.32) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Shihong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poems In Running Script, which sold at auction in March 2014 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 36,292.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Shihong erzielte im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script für HKD 125.000,00 (€ 14.287,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Shihong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poems In Running Script beobachtet, die im März 2014 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 36.292,37) versteigert wurde.
