Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Overjoyed by Wang Keping. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 126,000.00 (€ 13,955.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Keping achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Couple - 1999-2012 in July last year with an auction result of EUR 157,440.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Overjoyed von Wang Keping zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 126.000,00 (€ 13.955,53) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Keping erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Couple - 1999-2012 im Juli letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 157.440,00.
