In September this year Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Chinese Painting20th Century & Beyond Part II, which included the work Peony, 1965 by Wang Jiyuan. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,304.00 (€ 2,176.87), 54% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Jiyuan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self Portrait in December 2008 with an auction result of HKD 3,380,000.00 (€ 313,255.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Chinese Painting20th Century & Beyond Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peony, 1965 von Wang Jiyuan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.304,00 (€ 2.176,87) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Jiyuan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self Portrait im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.380.000,00 (€ 313.255,26).
