Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September this year Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Chinese Painting20th Century & Beyond Part II, which included the work Black Peony, 1966 by Wang Jiyuan. Here, the upper estimate of USD 2,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 2,560.00 (€ 2,418.75). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Jiyuan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self Portrait in December 2008 with an auction result of HKD 3,380,000.00 (€ 313,255.26).
