Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Poem In Cursive Script by Wang Chong was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. The price achieved of HKD 325,000.00 (€ 36,595.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 260,000.00 – 360,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Chong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Regular Script in April this year with an auction result of HKD 600,000.00 (€ 612,717.39).

Die Arbeit Poem In Cursive Script von Wang Chong wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 325.000,00 (€ 36.595,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 260.000,00 – 360.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Chong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular Script im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 600.000,00 (€ 612.717,39).
