Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy in Running Script by Wang Chong was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2021. The price achieved of HKD 945,000.00 (€ 105,118.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wang Chong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Regular Script in April this year with an auction result of HKD 600,000.00 (€ 612,717.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script von Wang Chong wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 945.000,00 (€ 105.118,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Chong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular Script im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 600.000,00 (€ 612.717,39).
