This artwork by Wang Chong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2016. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Cursive Script Calligraphy sold for HKD 212,500.00 (€ 24,561.07) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Chong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Regular Script in April this year with an auction result of HKD 600,000.00 (€ 612,717.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Chong erzielte im Mai 2016 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Cursive Script Calligraphy für HKD 212.500,00 (€ 24.561,07) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Chong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular Script im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 600.000,00 (€ 612.717,39).
