Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price

When the work Figure by Wang Jiyuan was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 18,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 61,360.00 (€ 7,168.48). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Jiyuan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self Portrait in December 2008 with an auction result of HKD 3,380,000.00 (€ 313,255.26).

Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert

Als die Arbeit Figure von Wang Jiyuan im Oktober 2015 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 18.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 61.360,00 (€ 7.168,48) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Jiyuan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self Portrait im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.380.000,00 (€ 313.255,26).
