Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Poem In Running Script by Wang Ao. The price achieved of HKD 150,000.00 (€ 16,890.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Ao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in Cursive Script in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 6,040,000.00 (€ 571,231.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poem In Running Script von Wang Ao zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 150.000,00 (€ 16.890,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Ao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.040.000,00 (€ 571.231,67).
