Sold at the lower estimate price

The result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 31,675.64) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Ao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in Cursive Script in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 6,040,000.00 (€ 571,231.67).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Poem In Running Script von Wang Ao kam im September 2014 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 31.675,64) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Ao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.040.000,00 (€ 571.231,67).
