Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Poem In Cursive Script by Wang Ao. It changed hands for a price of USD 47,500.00 (€ 34,477.75) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 40,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Ao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in Cursive Script in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 6,040,000.00 (€ 571,231.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poem In Cursive Script von Wang Ao zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 34.477,75) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Ao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.040.000,00 (€ 571.231,67).
