Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wang Ao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Poem In Running Script sold for HKD 325,000.00 (€ 36,595.48) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Ao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in Cursive Script in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 6,040,000.00 (€ 571,231.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Ao erzielte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Poem In Running Script für HKD 325.000,00 (€ 36.595,48) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Ao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.040.000,00 (€ 571.231,67).
