Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Poem In Running Cursive Script Calligraphy by Wang Ao was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in April 2004. The price achieved of HKD 89,625.00 (€ 5,817.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Ao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in Cursive Script in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 6,040,000.00 (€ 571,231.67).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 89.625,00 (€ 5.817,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 80.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Ao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.040.000,00 (€ 571.231,67).
