Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy in Cursive Script by Wang Ao was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2006. The price achieved of HKD 660,000.00 (€ 64,004.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wang Ao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in Cursive Script in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 6,040,000.00 (€ 571,231.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script von Wang Ao wurde im November 2006 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 660.000,00 (€ 64.004,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Ao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.040.000,00 (€ 571.231,67).
