Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bathing Huts by Walter Westley Russell was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in New York in April 2006. It changed hands for a price of USD 24,000.00 (€ 19,011.41) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Westley Russell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Summer Pleasures, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 38,400.00 (€ 57,032.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Bathing Huts von Walter Westley Russell wurde im April 2006 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 24.000,00 (€ 19.011,41) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Westley Russell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Summer Pleasures beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 38.400,00 (€ 57.032,86) versteigert wurde.
