In March 2000 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Gibraltar by Walter Westley Russell. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 517.50 (€ 860.63), 73% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Westley Russell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer Pleasures in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 38,400.00 (€ 57,032.86).

Im März 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gibraltar von Walter Westley Russell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 517,50 (€ 860,63) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Westley Russell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer Pleasures im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.400,00 (€ 57.032,86).
