A top price for Walter Westley Russell - as previously expected
The work Summer Pleasures by Walter Westley Russell was sold in the Victorian & Edwardian Art auction at Sothebys in London in July 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 35,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 38,400.00 (€ 57,032.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Summer Pleasures is the most expensive artwork by Walter Westley Russell that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Summer Pleasures von Walter Westley Russell wurde im Juli 2007 in der Auktion Victorian & Edwardian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 35.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 38.400,00 (€ 57.032,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Summer Pleasures das teuerste Kunstwerk von Walter Westley Russell, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
