The work The Boatsman by Walter Stuempfig was sold in the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2016. It achieved a price of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,625.82), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 60%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Stuempfig - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Boys Playing in a Square, Philadelphia, which sold at auction in March 2015 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 11,233.24).

Die Arbeit The Boatsman von Walter Stuempfig wurde im Juni 2016 in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.625,82) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 60%. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Stuempfig mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Boys Playing in a Square, Philadelphia beobachtet, die im März 2015 für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 11.233,24) versteigert wurde.
