The work Factory District by Walter Stuempfig was sold in the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2016. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,438.72), 71% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Stuempfig - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Boys Playing in a Square, Philadelphia, which sold at auction in March 2015 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 11,233.24).

Die Arbeit Factory District von Walter Stuempfig wurde im Juni 2016 in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.438,72) und damit 71% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Stuempfig mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Boys Playing in a Square, Philadelphia beobachtet, die im März 2015 für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 11.233,24) versteigert wurde.
