Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Walter Launt Palmer could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Winter Moonrise changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,452.45) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Launt Palmer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Winter Forest in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 198,000.00 (€ 147,179.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Walter Launt Palmer konnte im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Winter Moonrise für USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.452,45) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Launt Palmer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Winter Forest im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 198.000,00 (€ 147.179,07).
