The work An Upland Stream by Walter Launt Palmer was sold in the 19th Century American Art auction at Christies in New York in January last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,020.69), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Launt Palmer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Winter Forest, which sold at auction in May 2007 for USD 198,000.00 (€ 147,179.07).

Die Arbeit An Upland Stream von Walter Launt Palmer wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion 19th Century American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 39.020,69) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Launt Palmer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Winter Forest beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für USD 198.000,00 (€ 147.179,07) versteigert wurde.
