This artwork by Walter Langhammer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2019. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work Untitled (Kashmir Landscape) sold for USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,889.50) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Walter Langhammer; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (Still Life) sold at auction in June 2018 with the realized price of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,714.42).
