Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit, which included the work Zaandam by Walter Frederick Osborne. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,336.13). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Frederick Osborne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dorothy And Irene Falkiner in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 580,500.00 (€ 738,421.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit durch, in der auch die Arbeit Zaandam von Walter Frederick Osborne zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.336,13) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Frederick Osborne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dorothy And Irene Falkiner im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 580.500,00 (€ 738.421,37).
